Wastewater treatment plants face constant challenges, such as buildup of solids, sludge and/or organic matter, related malodors, FOG buildup, reduced  performance in cold weather, loss of performance due to overloading or  shocks caused by chemical dosing or flow changes. These problems can result in undesirable levels of BOD and CODs and cause final effluent issues.
